Description of the Department
The Department of Pharmacological Sciences of the University of Milan coordinates and organizes research activities in the following areas:
- action of drugs, xenobiotics, natural substances, foods, cosmetic components and environmental agents;
- molecular, functional and biochemical mechanisms of drugs and biological compounds;
- metabolism, toxic and adverse reactions, evaluated in vivo and in vitro;
- identification and characterization of molecular targets of natural substances, drugs and xenobiotics;
- implementation of experimental, clinical, and epidemiological experimentations, and of innovative models for the study of molecules with potential pharmacological activities.
