Spotlights April 2012 Watch Laura Tosi's Interview at the Bologna Children's Book Fair |
February 2012
I am pleased to announce the restyling of our website devoted to the study of children's literature in Italy and hosted by the Università degli Studi di Milano, Dipartimento di Scienze del Linguaggio e Letterature Straniere Comparate – Sezione di Anglistica.
This website stems from the work of a group of Italian scholars and friends who have been addressing the subject of children's literature from within the field of English Studies, albeit from a wide range of methodological perspectives (cultural and gender studies, visual studies, film studies...).
First launched in 2007 under the aegis of the British Consulate-General, Milan, the British Council and the International Research Society on Children's Literature, nowadays the website is active once again thanks to the cooperation of the Universities of Foggia, Padua, Salerno, Venice and Milan. Mariangela Mosca Bonsignore teaches at the Università degli Studi di Torino, Elena Paruolo at the Università degli Studi di Salerno, Alessandra Petrina at the Università degli Studi di Padova, Laura Tosi at the Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and Antonella Cagnolati at the Università degli Studi di Foggia. Carlo Pagetti, like myself, at the Università degli Studi di Milano. Our work in the field, which besides publications includes research projects, courses taught at undergraduate and graduate level and dissertations, is documented by this website. The aim of Children's Literature in Italy is to provide information to scholars, teachers and readers, to encourage research and to grant visibility to our subject within the area of Literary and Cultural Studies in English.
