Graduated in Physics at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 1995 and PhD in Physics with the Thesis: Supersonic Cluster Beam Deposition for the synthesis of Nanophase Materials, at the Università degli Studi di Milano in 2000.
He won “Luigi Giulotto” Price for young Scientists awarded by the Società Italiana di Fisica (SIF) in 1998.
Research position at the Physics Department of the Università degli Studi di Milano since 2002.
He is active at the Molecular Beams and Nanocrystalline Materials Laboratory (LGM) of the Università degli Studi di Milano since its foundation in 1993. He brought an important contribution to the development of the original synthesis and characterization techniques of LGM. At the same lab he is coordinating the activities on the synthesis of nanophase materials and nanoparticles, gas-phase characterization of nanoparticles and their manipulation by aerosol/gas-phase techniques.
His activity in CIMAINA is focused on the synthesis of films and nanostructured and nanocomposite systems through cluster deposition, for application in fields of tribology, sensor and genomic.
