During the Sixties, Alcorn illustrated numerous books in which he again demonstrated his independence of design and his ability to adapt to different subjects. He realized illustrations for leaflets, magazines, calendars, cards, cooking books and other kind of illustrated books, although some of the most successful works are children’s books. In 1962 he made his award-winning debut with the illustration of Books!, a smart publication about books and aimed at both children and adults, that perfectly exemplifies his ability to merge typography and illustration, with a surprising result.

In all the other publications, Alcorn never lost his creative freshness and realized drawings rich in details and able to make the reader smile but never bore him. Both in children’s and adults publications, his cure of the detail became his trademark, although the continuous varying of the style and techniques on the basis of the specific work and his personal sensibility in that moment.
