Massimo Florio is Professor of Public Economics and Jean Monnet Chair “Ad personam” of EU Industrial Policy at the University of Milan. He is acknowledged at European level as top expert in the evaluation of EU policies, programmes and projects. During his professional career of more than 30 years, he has been involved in high profile studies, evaluations and advisory activities for the European Commission (mainly DG Regional Policy), the European Parliament, the European Investment Bank, the OECD, the World Bank and other national and international institutions. He is often being asked by the European Commission and other institutions to provide input on policies development or on evaluation methodologies. His main research interests are in applied welfare economics, cost-benefit analysis, industrial and regional policies, infrastructure and growth, government expenditures, regulation, privatization, and public enterprise.
