Yuliya YurchenYuliya Yurchenko has recently successfully completed a DPhil in International Relations (Global Political Economy) on ‘Capitalist bloc formation, transnationalisation of the state and the transnational capitalist class in post-1991 Ukraine’. The project focused on the post-Soviet transformation of Ukraine’s economy, privatisation of state-owned enterprises, and direct (i.e. lobbying) and indirect (i.e. International Financial Institutions: IMF and EBRD) role of the EU and US business in these processes. Her research interests include the politico-economic situation in the EU and its Neighbourhood and impact of various social and economic bodies/actors on the process of its shaping (e.g. EU integration and lobby groups in Brussels, etc.); the Constitutional (and Lisbon) Treaty and the linked reforms.
